Months ago, our associate Attorney, Ethan Campbell filed a motion to dismiss a Two-Count charge involving Felony & Misdemeanor Battery charges in Citrus County. This “Stand Your Ground” motion was lengthy and included a memorandum of law with citations and demanded that all charges be dismissed. The hearing on the matter was set for this Friday, October 2, 2026. Yesterday afternoon we got notice in our pleadings portal that both charges have been dismissed by the State of Florida These charges also formed the basis for a felony violation of Probation in Pinellas County. This development should significantly impact those charges as well. Great job Ethan! Chipping away!!

Great turnout for our North Florida Office ribbon-cutting and grand opening. Our other office on the island was completely destroyed by hurricane Helene. This is an excellent location for us. Half the  distance to Tallahassee from our flagship office in Seminole and a lovely place to get some work done in a laid-back island town.

$250,000 secured in a car crash case where the insurance company had plenty to point at.

There wasn’t a lot of visible vehicle damage, and our client had a history of pre-existing conditions, exactly the kind of facts insurers love to use to argue that someone “was already hurt.”

But the full picture told a different story.

Maryann Furman and co-counsel Frank McDermott were able to show that this crash caused real harm, and the case ultimately resolved for $250,000.

A good reminder that a photo of the car and an old medical record never tell the whole story.
