Here's a bulletin issued by OSPI on the new student discipline rules. You can find read more about it on the State Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction's website at On July 30, 2018, OSPI adopted new student discipline rules that comprehensively revised Chapter 392-400 of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). Some provisions became effective for the 2018–19 school year, with the remaining provisions becoming effective for the 2019–20 school year. 908 more words [ 901 more words ]

OSPI promulgated rules pursuant to revised student discipline laws. Some rules go into effect for this 2018-2019 school year. Others take effect next year.

Thank you to all of our supporters for a fantastic 2018. This year, we added three new attorneys to our team, expanded our practice into employment law and civil rights issues for school employees, and obtained some fantastic results for our clients. We are pleased to announce that Michelle Mentzer has joined our firm as of January 2, 2019. Michelle formerly practiced labor and employment law and worked in civil legal aid before serving as an Administrative Law Judge in the Office of Administrative Hearings for almost 17 years, the last 10 of which focused on education cases for the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
