ALERT: Scam inheritance letters on the rise.
These letters are a new twist on an old scam. If you get a letter claiming you may be the heir to Millions because some relative they never heard of (but with the same last name) has died DO NOT RESPOND.
It may have the name of a real attorney, but don't fall for it. The promise of such a windfall is enticing, but staying informed and knowing how to spot the warning signs is even better.
