Peryea Silver Taylor attorneys Lauren Olson and Allison Peryea attended Community Associations Institute - WA State Chapter's first-ever pickleball tournament benefitting the WSCAI Legislative Action Committee on May 16 at the Picklewood Paddle Club in Seattle. This was a fun event with great exercise for an important cause. Can't wait to do it again next year!

WSCAI's Virtual Law Day 2026 is June 9! Join Community Associations Institute - WA State Chapter for a virtual afternoon focused on the 2026 legislative session, WUCIOA implementation, and the legal issues community association boards, managers, homeowners, and business partners need to understand.

Peryea Silver Taylor Senior Attorney Samantha Brown will be presenting "The Who, What, When, Where and Why of Responding to Owner Requests under WUCIOA" at 1 p.m. This presentation will address records requests and compliance with House Bill 1501, which takes effect on June 11.

On April 30, Shareholder Attorney Allison Peryea, who is also the 2026 Community Associations Institute - WA State Chapter (WSCAI) President, helped lead the effort--along with SKCR 2026 President Cheyenne Gillooly--to schedule a first-ever joint event with the Seattle King County Realtors. This educational mixer, sponsored by WSCAI and held at the Washington Athletic Club, included a panel presentation on navigating resale certificate law changes from both the community association and Realtor perspectives. It was attended by about 80 people, including WSCAI and SKCR members.

Community Associations Institute - WA State Chapter's Pacific-Northwest-themed Annual Conference was held April 9-11 at the Seattle Convention Center-Summit Addition. Peryea Silver Taylor participated in the Friday trade show; attorney Mary Reiten presented twice on dispute resolution; and attorney Allison Peryea presented on water losses. Mary and Allison also served on the Saturday attorney panel. Allison also helped emcee the event as WSCAI 2026 president! The event included educational programming, a fundraiser dinner for the Legislative Action Committee, a dueling-piano mixer, and more!

Peryea Silver Taylor is excited to welcome Ritika Kishore to our team as a paralegal. She moved from San Jose, California, to Seattle. She has several years of experience working as a paralegal in banking, finance, real estate, and general corporate advisory. She holds a JD-equivalent from Karnataka State Law University, and an LLM from O.P. Jindal Global University, both in India. Her long-term goal is to pass the bar exam in Washington and California. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, exploring a different variety of cuisines, painting, dancing, and baking.

On April 23, attorneys Lauren Olson and Chawisa Laicharoenwat attended EMB Management's first Associa Cares Swing and Putt Social to support the work of Associa Cares. The charity mini-golf event was held at the Flastick Pub in Redmond. Lauren got a hole in one, of course.

Peryea Silver Taylor helped sponsor the event. Associa Cares is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping people in crisis in the aftermath of natural and man-made disasters. Associa Cares has distributed over $6.4 million in direct disaster relief aid to more than 4500 families since 2005.

Our firm loves to educate owners on both sides of the mountains! On March 28, attorney Allison Peryea and Karen McDonald of Accurate Reserve Professionals taught WSCAI's Board Member 101 class in Wenatchee. This class is designed to teach homeowners the basics of serving on a community association board and is offered at no charge by Community Associations Institute - WA State Chapter. This is Allison's second time teaching this class in Wenatchee, her hometown!
