At this early stage, no responsible analysis should pretend the full answer is known. The NTSB itself has emphasized that major aviation accidents rarely result from a single failure, and the facts released so far are consistent with that view.

However, there are already signs of multiple safety failures that may have contributed to the accident, including runway-crossing clearance timing, the significance of anticipatory landing clearance issued two minutes before the accident, the combined controller duties on the midnight shift, vehicle transponder issues, and the failure of ground surface radar to generate a collision alert.

The deadly runway collision at LaGuardia involving Air Canada Express Flight 8646 highlights growing concerns over airport congestion, controller workload, and runway safety. As the NTSB investigat…

Airlines frequently describe turbulence injuries as unavoidable acts of nature. The investigations into HA35 and now Delta 56 challenge that narrative. These are preventable accidents. In this instance, Delta 56 sent 25 people to the hospital and put the other passengers through a 2.5-minute terrifying experience that no one should have to endure.

Early investigative findings indicate the aircraft flew into known convective weather that had been forecast and warned about in advance. For our firm, the facts are troubling not because they are …

A recent JetBlue incident has revealed a serious vulnerability in many Airbus A320 aircraft linked to solar radiation and flight control systems. Airbus has called for immediate action across the global fleet and grounded all aircraft on the busiest travel weekend of the year. ALG Attorney and A320 Captain, Chris Rusing explains the technical cause, the safety implications, and the legal protections available to those who were on Jet Blue 1230.

A surge in solar activity has exposed a hidden vulnerability in thousands of Airbus A320s, triggering a frightening uncommanded dive on a recent JetBlue flight and prompting urgent global fixes and…

Aviation Law Group is closely monitoring the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171, a Boeing 787 “Dreamliner” that went down shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, India, en route to London. Initial reports indicate the aircraft failed to gain altitude before crashing into a student hostel near the airport, killing nearly all 242 onboard and injuring others on the ground.

ALG has begun its own investigation into the accident, including early video evidence suggesting a loss of engine thrust, failure to retract landing gear, and deployment of the ram air turbine—signs that may point to serious mechanical or electrical failure. This is the first fatal crash involving a Boeing 787.

Our hearts are with the families affected by this tragedy. As more details emerge, ALG remains committed to uncovering the facts and assisting those impacted.

Aviation Law Group is investigating the fatal crash of a Cessna S550 Citation jet (N666DS) that occurred on May 22, 2025, during an instrument approach to Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport in San Diego. The jet impacted the Tierrasanta neighborhood, destroying homes and vehicles and tragically killing all six people aboard. Remarkably, no injuries occurred on the ground.

Preliminary information indicates several critical airport systems, including the weather reporting station (ASOS), glideslope, and runway lighting, were inoperative at the time. Weather conditions were extremely poor, and pilot fatigue may have been a factor following a two-leg, overnight flight. ALG is closely monitoring the NTSB’s investigation and brings deep experience with Cessna Citation aircraft and complex aviation litigation.

Initial reports and air traffic control data indicate that the weather reporting equipment (ASOS) at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport was inoperative at the time of the accident.

The situation that tragically took the lives of those onboard N8930N appears to have the hallmarks of an uncommanded rudder deflection and the resulting aerodynamic effects. It is only based on the heroic efforts of the pilots that they were able to maintain flight for as long as they did in a desperate attempt to return to Runway 5 at Boca Raton Airport.

After the Wright Air accident, the NTSB identified shortcomings in FAA regulations concerning weight and balance documentation for single-engine commuter operations under Part 135. The FAA has not taken action, and this regulatory gap persists today. As the Bering Air accident shows, these systemic issues are still unresolved by aviation authorities.
