Most people don’t realize there are multiple credit scoring models out there and in 2026, that can make a pretty big difference when it comes to your mortgage pricing.

At Wain Capital, we pull both VantageScore 4.0 and FICO and use the better score whenever possible on eligible conventional loans. That can help reduce LLPAs (loan-level pricing adjustments) and potentially save you money upfront and over time.

A stronger score = better pricing opportunities.

This is especially helpful for:

• Clients rebuilding credit
• Borrowers whose VantageScore trends higher than FICO
