A new anchored retail project from Vestar could be coming to the Desert Ridge area.

The developer is eyeing a 20-acre state-owned parcel at Black Mountain Boulevard and Deer Valley Drive. The property has a starting bid of $6.85 million and is scheduled for auction on Nov. 5. The winning bidder will also be required to complete approximately $2.3 million in improvements at the intersection.

The potential project comes as homebuilders and commercial developers continue competing for state land in the growing Desert Ridge area.

Two Superstition Vistas communities are among the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities.

D.R. Horton’s Radiance ranked No. 17 on RCLCO’s mid-2026 list after recording 325 home sales during the first half of the year. Brookfield Residential’s Blossom Rock followed at No. 28 with 266 sales. Bella Vista Farms and Verrado also placed in the national top 50.

Blossom Rock will showcase 32 model homes during its Escape & Explore Home Tour on Aug. 29 and 30. The homes range from the mid-$300Ks to $1.1M.

A new self-storage and RV storage development is planned south of Casa Grande.

Reverent Ventures LLC is proposing the project on an 8.64-acre site along John Jacob Astor Avenue. Plans include self-storage, RV storage and administrative office space designed to meet growing regional demand while transforming a vacant parcel into a modern, low-impact facility.

Rose Law Group is serving as legal representative for the project, which was recently reviewed by the Pinal County Planning and Zoning Commission.

Thomas Galvin, Maricopa County District 2 Supervisor and Rose Law Group Partner, has kicked off the campaign supporting Prop 413, an important public safety measure appearing on the Nov. 3, 2026, ballot.

Prop 413 would extend Maricopa County’s existing one-fifth-of-one-cent sales tax for 20 years to fund essential public safety and justice services. The measure would not create a new tax or increase the current rate.

Thomas was joined at the campaign launch by Maricopa County Sheriff Jerry Sheridan, County Attorney Rachel Mitchell, Board of Supervisors Chair Kate Brophy McGee, Supervisor Steve Gallardo and Buckeye Mayor Eric Orsborn.
