We have an announcement! Welcome to the firm, Mark!
Mark has spent his legal career advocating for fairness and equity in the workplace. He provides comprehensive legal counsel to both employers and employees on matters related to employment discrimination, wage and hour issues, employee agreements, and workplace disputes.
Mark joins Fernandez Watts after a distinguished 15-year career with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), where he focused on investigating and litigating employment discrimination complaints filed by federal employees across the Southwest. During his tenure at the EEOC, Mark developed in-depth expertise in federal employment law, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and other federal employee protections. His extensive experience in federal employee litigation equips him with the knowledge to effectively advise clients on a wide range of workplace issues, from employee versus independent contractor classifications to complex employment contracts, severance agreements, restrictive covenants, hostile work environments, and the reasonable accommodation process.
As a lifelong deaf individual, Mark offers unique, personal insight into navigating the workplace with a disability. This experience has fueled his passion for helping clients with disabilities secure the reasonable accommodations they need to thrive in their careers. Mark’s practice is grounded in a commitment to resolving workplace challenges through a combination of proactive training, outreach, dispute resolution, and mediation.
Whether representing employers or employees, Mark strives to foster collaborative, effective solutions that promote fairness, inclusivity, and compliance with the law.
