How can you avoid voice cloning scams? Scams are on the rise in which the scammer clones the voice of a friend or family member in order to steal money or personal information. These scams typically sound like an urgent call from a loved one claiming they're in jail, about to be arrested, or have been kidnapped.

To combat these, you should first be suspicious immediately if the caller asks for money or confidential info in an urgent way. If you are suspicious, you can ask questions that only your loved one could answer. Examples would be specific details of a memorable gathering or event you both attended, a unique place you both know about or have visited, etc. You can also hang up and contact them back directly on their own phone or contact other mutual family/friends to check on the situation.

NEVER send money or give info unless you're positive that you have confirmed the call is legitimate.

Every person riding a bicycle upon a roadway shall be granted all of the rights and shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle by this chapter, except as to special regulations in this article and except as to those provisions of this chapter which by their nature can have no application.
