Trivedi & Khan Prevails in Illinois Appellate Court

Our client, a prominent commercial landlord, retained Trivedi & Khan to represent them in a major commercial lease dispute. Trivedi & Khan filed the case in the Cook County Circuit Court and diligently worked to represent our client with firm persistence through multiple complaint amendments and motion practice. The Circuit Court ruled that neither party prevailed in litigation therefore each party was responsible for its own attorney fees. The Defendant appealed the matter to the Illinois Appellate Court – 1st District, arguing that Trivedi & Khan’s client was responsible for thousands of dollars in attorney’s fees. Trivedi & Khan continued to maintain a firm stance on following the Circuit Court’s orders and asserted that the plaintiff was not the prevailing party. The 1st District Appellate Court adapted Mr. Khan’s arguments and as a result, our client avoided paying the other party’s considerable expenses. Trivedi & Khan prides itself in striving to faithfully advocate in their clients’ favor regardless of any challenges that may arise.
