One benefit of hiring a former prosecutor is perspective.
A defense attorney who has worked on the prosecution side may understand how prosecutors think, what they look for, how they build cases, and what may matter during negotiation.
That perspective can help when reviewing evidence, identifying weaknesses, understanding strategy, and working toward the best available outcome.
It is a little like having insight into the other team’s playbook.
Experience on both sides of the courtroom can matter.
This is general information, not legal advice. Every case is different.
