We’re proud to celebrate 23 Oliver Maner attorneys recognized in the 2027 editions of The Best Lawyers in America® and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America! This year, we had two partners recognized as “Lawyer of the Year” in their respective fields: Lee Summerford (Corporate Law) and Larry Evans (Litigation – Construction). This distinction is awarded to just one attorney in each practice area and geographic region, making it an especially meaningful recognition of their experience and leadership in the legal profession. We also had 19 attorneys named to Best Lawyers and four attorneys named to Ones to Watch.

Congratulations to all of our recognized attorneys on this well-deserved honor! Take a look at this year’s honorees.

Summer boating season is in full swing along the Georgia coast, from weekends on the water to busy marinas and increased vessel traffic around Savannah’s waterways.

But when accidents or disputes happen on the water, many people are surprised to learn that maritime and admiralty matters can involve an entirely different legal framework than a standard injury or liability case.

Issues involving boating accidents, passenger injuries, marina incidents, commercial vessels, cargo operations, and navigational liability may fall under federal maritime law and carry unique procedural and jurisdictional considerations.

For businesses, vessel owners, operators, and individuals alike, understanding those distinctions matters—especially in a port city like Savannah.

When many people think of Savannah, they picture oak-lined streets, historic squares, and waterfront views. But behind the city’s charm is a dynamic economy powered by industries that drive growth throughout Coastal Georgia.

Logistics and transportation continue to expand through the Port of Savannah. Real estate and development projects are reshaping neighborhoods and commercial corridors. Healthcare organizations serve a growing population. Local governments support critical infrastructure. And entrepreneurs and family-owned businesses continue to build the future of our region.

For more than a century, Oliver Maner has worked alongside the people and organizations helping Savannah thrive. Our attorneys advise businesses, healthcare providers, developers, government entities, transportation and logistics companies, and families on matters ranging from contracts and business transactions to real estate, estate planning, tax issues, and litigation.

Because behind every successful community is a strong foundation—and often, thoughtful legal guidance.

We are thrilled to introduce our two summer associates: Macyn Nasser and Valeria Notte!

Macyn Nasser is a rising 3L at Mercer University School of Law. Asked what drew her to pursue a career in law, she says, “I had always known that I wanted to practice law. I was drawn to the profession because I enjoy research, writing, and advocacy, and I wanted a career where I could use those skills to help people navigate challenging issues.” Macyn has already been learning from her mentor and the other attorneys at Oliver Maner. So far, she’s been able to observe depositions and hearings. “This has been a great way to see what litigation looks like in practice,” she shares. “I’m looking forward to continuing to learn from everyone and getting more hands-on experience throughout the summer.” A fun fact about Macyn? Her family has four dogs!

Valeria Notte just completed her second year at Mercer Law School. This is the first big step in achieving a lifelong dream, as she has wanted to be an attorney for as long as she can remember! “I was introduced to the legal world at a young age, and seeing the work firsthand helped me appreciate the responsibility and purpose behind the profession,” she says. “That experience is what led me toward law!” This summer, she is looking forward to gaining practical exposure to the work our firm handles and learning from attorneys who are exceptionally skilled in their practice. She adds, “This summer is also an opportunity for me to explore different areas of law, as I continue figuring out where I see myself in the profession.” A fun fact about Valeria? Her family is from Colombia, South America!

Thank you for joining us this summer, Macyn and Valeria! We are glad you are here!
