HunterMaclean congratulates Judge Brian Epps, a former business litigator in our Savannah office, on his investiture as a judge on the Georgia Court of Appeals. Governor Brian Kemp swore Judge Epps in yesterday at the State Capitol, before a room that included judges from the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the federal bench, along with members of the Georgia General Assembly. Several members of our firm were also there to celebrate the occasion.

Judge Epps joined HunterMaclean in 2000 as a business litigator before his appointment to the federal bench in 2013, where he served for 13 years as a U.S. magistrate judge in the Southern District of Georgia. Governor Kemp appointed him to the Court of Appeals, the state's intermediate appellate court, in July.

We were proud to receive a warm shout-out during Judge Epps’ remarks. He also spoke about his commitment to approaching every appeal with an open mind and treating litigants and practitioners with the dignity, patience, and civility they deserve.

Congratulations again to Judge Epps on this well-earned appointment.
