HunterMaclean is pleased to be co-sponsoring a free Driver’s License Clinic for eligible Georgians on Thursday, October 22, hosted by Georgia-Pacific and Koch, in partnership with Georgia Legal Services Program, Inc., Jones Day, and United Way of the Coastal Empire.

Volunteer attorneys will be on hand to help individuals understand their options for addressing a suspended driver’s license, which can have a real impact on a person’s ability to get to work.

The clinic will be held from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM at Savannah Technical College’s Eckburg Auditorium, 5717 White Bluff Road.

Pre-registration is required by this Thursday, October 15. To confirm eligibility and register, contact Catherine Sansonetti at (912) 400-2009 or [email protected].

Ever heard of a qui tam lawsuit?

It's when a private citizen, often a whistleblower, sues on behalf of the federal government to go after fraud in government programs. Under the False Claims Act, they can even share in whatever gets recovered.

Last month, the Eleventh Circuit rejected a constitutional challenge to that setup, which means these suits can keep moving forward.

In their latest article, attorneys Edgar Bueno and Luckshume Ketheeswaran break down what the court decided and what it means for companies that do business with the federal government.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, our nation endured a profound loss. In the face of unimaginable tragedy, we witnessed the courage of first responders who ran toward danger and the quiet heroism of everyday people who helped one another through the darkest of days. We saw the worst that day, but we also saw the very best of who we are.
