EUP Board of Realtors Real Estate Association The Eastern Upper Peninsula Board of REALTORS® was established in 1977. The E.U.P.

Our main service areas are Chippewa, Luce, and Mackinac Counties in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Board is a member of the Michigan Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. Board also offers MLS options and is also a member of the Michigan Reciprocal Agreement (MRA). Board is also a member of the Michigan REALTOR Association Executive Council (MRAEC)

testified today in the House Committee on Government Operations lending Realtor® input to HB 5872-5879 and HJR T. We look forward to further discussions on this legislation that eliminates the “pop-up tax” on property transfers and reduces property tax bills by 6 mills. Michigan Realtors® supports the repeal of the real estate transfer tax. The combined two changes are aimed at reducing financial barriers when buying or selling property in Michigan.

It would allow empty nesters downsize without a tax penalty and makes it more affordable for buyers to enter the market and move into homes that better fit their needs.

On March 3rd, Shawon Cecil and David Pierson testified in Senate Committee in opposition to statewide septic code legislation. Uniform standards matter, but property transfers should not be conditioned on point-of-sale mandates that disrupt negotiations and add costs at closing.
