With convenient locations throughout Bradenton and Sarasota, it’s an easy stop for residents of both cities!

And there’s a pretty special family story behind it.

Detwiler’s is a locally owned, Mennonite family business that started with a small roadside produce stand in Sarasota in 2002.

Today, it’s a local favorite for fresh Florida produce, seafood, quality meats, homemade-style baked goods, specialty cheeses, and some amazing deals!

🍩 Local tip: Don’t leave without checking out the bakery and ice cream!

One thing you might not think about when moving to Florida is just how FAST everything grows here!

We have these gorgeous banyan trees, rubber trees, and massive live oaks. They’re beautiful, but let me tell you, they can be a lot of work!

In fact, these are my trees, and Manatee County is out here trimming them because they’ve grown over the roadway! For safety, and hurricane preparedness, they are going street by street helping the community.

Between our sunshine, heat, and rainy season, Florida vegetation can grow like crazy!

And that’s something to think about when you’re buying a home here. All that beautiful tropical landscaping comes with maintenance, and sometimes some pretty big expenses.

🍻 But somehow… The Drift Inn on Anna Maria Island? Still open. CAT 5? They’ll give it their best shot. 😂

🐊 You stop being shocked when there’s an alligator in a retention pond.

🦎 You no longer notice the lizards running across your lanai… until one gets IN the house.

🌧️ You know a 90% chance of rain can mean 12 minutes of absolute monsoon followed by blue skies and sunshine.

☀️ You learn that “feels like 105°” is not an exaggeration.
