October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

According to National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc. here are a handful of ways to make an impact:

-Make a donation to provide life-saving mammograms to women in need.

-Make a donation to support patient navigators who specialize in serving at-risk populations.

-Spread the word about Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn.

-Host a virtual fundraiser or Facebook fundraiser benefiting the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

-Share the story of how you or a loved one have been affected by breast cancer.

-Proudly wear a pink ribbon during the month of October or year-round.

We honor aid workers who continue to provide life-saving support and protection to those facing a humanitarian crises. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic these aid workers have saved lives, protected lives, and taken risks.

What does our company do?

Senior Medicaid Solutions files Medicaid applications for seniors in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living Facilities.

We are a team dedicated to helping those with loved ones in a nursing home or going into a nursing home to apply for Florida Medicaid.

Helpful Skills include but are not limited to:

Communication: Explaining to client's or their loved one how to request information or provide information takes clear communication. Whether it be on the phone or in person, the use of excellent oral and written communication when interacting with all clients is vital. Professionalism and courtesy are qualities that must be maintained.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are a must and fluency with Microsoft Excel is a plus.

Discretion : Our filers generally have access to sensitive information. Understanding that this information is not to be used publicly is pertinent.

Organization: A filer in our office is expected to keep their assigned files with client documents organized for submission to Medicaid upon their request. Staying organized is a huge advantage.

People Skills: Client's come to us looking for help to find, retrieve and provide them information to the best of our ability. Being a friendly, active listener is a must. Offering to assist in any way we can.
We are looking for an individual who is driven, willing to listen and willing to learn. Although you will work filing independently for the most part, when needed we desire an individual that is willing to work as part of a team.

Bilingual would be beneficial but is not a mandatory requirement for this position.

Schedule:
We work Monday - Friday with working hours of 8:30AM-5PM.

April 16th is National Healthcare Decisions Day!

This day is meant to encourage and empower individuals and families to create an advanced directive plan. This can include discussions in regards to Medicaid Planning, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, and overall Estate Plans.

Naples Daily News has provided the following tips on how to start a conversation in regards to creating a plan:

• Pick a date and time in which everyone is relaxed to make it easier to hear eachother out.

• Encourage loved ones to speak about their preferences, and do not give up if they seem resistant to the discussion.

• Before commiting to anything, wholeheartedly evaluate motivation, availability and skills.

• Identify contributions that can be made comfortably and plan to assist or meet anticipated needs.

• Acknowledge limits to alleviate stress and uncertainty.
