We at Van Ness Law Group are helping to sponsor this event to help the homeless in our community this holiday season. The Blessing Bags will be filled Dec 16th and distributed on Friday, December 18th at the 5 PM event organized by Vallerie Gilleroy of Trinity without borders.

Friday, December 18 Trinity Without Borders is having it's annual Xmas Fun Fest. We will be distributing $1000 worth of gift cards to first come first serve participants in the Health testing, surveys and...TALENT SHOW that will be done at the event.

There will also be "Blessing Bags" distributed which will be made possible with the help of Junior League of Sarasota. These bags contain travel size toiletries, such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, wipes, hand sanitizer and other daily necessities.

I'm just saying...I'm not taking sides. Baltimore State Attorney says she needs "probable cause" to bring charges. I beg to differ. As a former prosecutor, a prosecutor brings charges when they believe they can prove the charges to a jury beyond a reasonable doubt. Police arrest in probable cause, a prosecutor's burden is much higher.

But I see no reason why she should recuse herself. She's the elected official.

As a criminal defense lawyer who followed the verdict in the case of The State of Florida vs George Zimmerman, it is my belief that the jury reached the correct and just verdict.

This case was not about race. The police initially did a complete and thorough investigation and determined Mr. Zimmerman should not be charged. The case was filed because people and the media made it about race and Angela Corey and her "team" do not understand the Stand Your Ground and self-defense law.

The American Justice system is not perfect, but it is the best in the world.

The event was a tragedy but this was the correct verdict.
