Amy Chapman has worked exclusively defe
nding clients charged with criminal cases in Sonoma County since 2000. Amy is a Bay Area native who graduated from The University of California at Berkeley in 1997, then went on to earn a Juris Doctor in 2000 from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. During law school, she found a passion for criminal defense early on and never looked back. Opportunities to work as a law clerk at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office and the Los Angeles Public Defender’s Office convinced her that criminal defense should be her career. After being sworn into the California State Bar, Amy began working at the Sonoma County Law Office of the Public Defender in 2000. During almost 12 years at the Public Defender’s office, she defended literally thousands of misdemeanor and felony cases. Amy has done dozens of jury trials on charges ranging from misdemeanor DUI and domestic violence all the way up to r**e and first degree murder. She has had remarkable success both in front of juries and at the negotiating table.
