Coronavirus and the Sonoma County courts, as of 5p on 3/13:
“Pursuant to the Sonoma County Health Officer Order issued Friday March 13, 2020, the Sonoma County Superior Court will continue regular court operations until further notice. We have followed all advice and guidance from the Sonoma County health officials and Office of Emergency Services. Under the guidance of the Health Director we have taken measures to mitigate the spread of contagious disease including the sanitation and disinfecting of all hard surfaces in every courtroom for the last several weeks. This practice, among others, will continue indefinitely. We are implementing social distancing in the courtrooms starting Monday March 16, 2020, and require all persons in the courtroom to remain at least six feet distance from any other person present except for very brief attorney-client discussion as needed during hearings. If a courtroom does not have enough seats for all persons on a calendar, we will have them wait in the hallway until their matter is called. On behalf of the bench officers, our CEO, and court staff, we appreciate your concerns and your support in mitigation during this challenging time.
Bradford DeMeo, Presiding Judge of the Sonoma County Superior Court”
