DUI's are our sole Area Of Practice

Jon W Woolsey, Esq., the "DUI Guru" (A trusted counselor and adviser; a mentor; a recognized leader in a field: an acknowledged and influential advocate). Jon Woolsey provides legal representation for DUI violations; that's all he does. This includes United States Constitutional, 4th Amendment infringements on your rights or charges for crimes that are often as

sociated with our right to be secure in our persons, houses, papers, and effects - such as unreasonable search and seizures! Sometimes these criminal charges are in the context of a alcohol related DUI, Medical Ma*****na related DUI and Prescription Drug related DUI arrest in a vehicle or in your home. When you've been arrested for one of these DUI's there are often a host of other charges that the Police or District Attorney of Sonoma County, Napa County or Mendocino County can also charge. These other charges are so often used to trump up the charges that I have taken them on in at least half of clients I have represented. My representation in these areas is aimed at defending your rights; dismissing charges and/or lowering penalties. There are no other Santa Rosa Defense Attorneys who only do what I do for my clients; in other words, many Sonoma County lawyers advertise for your DUI charges, but they also handle every other kind of criminal case out there. Not me, not the DUI Guru. My representation begins and ends with DUI charges and only in Santa Rosa, Ukiah and Napa.

Why is the Sonoma Co DA's Office involved in this at all! This is a huge conflict of interest where the Sheriff and the DA work hand in hand on cases that don't involve one of their own. This case belongs with the Attorney General of CA. Someone needs to cry "foul"

There's two different "injury" allegations in a DUI. Just with an injury and then there's Great Bodily Injury which carries far greater consequences! It takes very little to boost a charge to GBI when dealing with the Sonoma County DA...These folks whose house was destroyed are so frightened from this incident that they are leaving this home permanently.

Natasha Whittinghill-Engram faces one count each of DUI causing injury and driving with a blood alcohol content of at least 0.08% causing injury, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office.

She had a blood alcohol content of 0.2% or higher at the time of the May 20 crash, according to the charges.

Whittinghill-Engram was arraigned Friday morning in Sonoma County Superior Court before Judge Troye Shaffer, records show.

Her attorney, Marty Woods, could not be reached for comment.

The defendant is scheduled to return to court Aug. 8 to enter a plea and schedule a preliminary hearing, which will determine if there’s enough evidence for her to go to trial.

Been a long time since we've had a checkpoint in Santa Rosa. The last one wasn't very successful. Let's see if they've learned from their mistakes with this one scheduled for Friday, 5/6...I'm thinking they are after Cinco de Mayo celebrators.

A checkpoint aimed at intercepting intoxicated and unlicensed drivers is planned for Friday in Sonoma County, the California Highway Patrol said. CHP officials did not disclose the location of the checkpoint, but said they would announce the site on Friday. It is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday to 12 a....

If this is Success I wonder what Failure looks like?

A total of 1217 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, which started at 5:30 PM and ended at 11:30 PM due to the rain. 971 vehicles were screened and out of those 18 were further evaluated for DUI and 15 for driver’s license violations. One suspect was arrested for DUI, seven suspects for driving while unlicensed, and one suspect for possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. One vehicle was towed.

A DUI-e, electronic, for driving while distracted by a mobile device?

In either case, both distracted and drunk drivers are more likely to be involved in fatal accidents.

As the State of CA prepares to pare back probational terms for almost every type of misdemeanor CA has concocted another way to intensify probation for DUI convictions.

The Solano County Probation Department has begun using a one-year, $275,627 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to supervise high-risk, repeat DUI offenders with suspended or r…

Hard to imagine that this diversion bill will pass the legislature. CA presently has Military for Veterans and Mental Health diversion but District Attorneys fight tooth and nail to keep DUI offenders out of these programs.

AB 3234 would allow charges to be dismissed after completion of the program, erasing criminal behavior from the record, lawyers say.
