Lesson #6: It Takes a Village.
I'm usually the main point of contact for my buyers and sellers, but there are SO many people behind the scenes helping me take care of them.
One of the most valuable things I've built in my career isn't a database or a marketing plan.
It's my village.
Lenders. Escrow and title officers. Inspectors. Insurance agents. Photographers. Stagers. Transaction coordinators. Marketing support. Movers. Cleaners. Landscapers.
General contractors, electricians, plumbers, painters, roofers, HVAC technicians, flooring installers, handymen, arborists, septic and well professionals...and all the people I call when I need someone who knows WAY more about something than I do.
And sometimes, it's the people who go a little beyond their job description.
The stager who finds a way to squeeze us into an already-packed schedule.
The florist I call on closing day because I suddenly decide that a large orchid would look perfect on the kitchen island when my buyers walk into their new home.
My referral partner and lender, Ray Giampaoli, Residential Mortgage Loan Officer, who is still one of the only lenders I know who does his own signings—showing up at the finish line with our clients to answer questions and make sure they understand what they're signing. Thank you, Ray.
And definitely my Realtor colleagues who cover my business when I go on vacation, because real estate doesn't stop just because I got on an airplane. 😂
Building a great vendor and referral team is important for any business owner.
But for me, it's never been about collecting names and phone numbers.
It's about relationships.
People I trust to answer the phone. Be honest. Communicate. Do great work. Take care of my clients. And every now and then say yes when I call with an, "Any chance you can do this TODAY?" request.
When I refer someone to my clients, their work becomes an extension of the service I'm providing. I take that seriously.
So, to my village: THANK YOU. ❤️
My clients may mostly see me, but I know just how many people are standing behind me helping get them to the finish line.
It absolutely takes a village.
