🕰️🌉 Today marks the 120th anniversary of the devastating 1906 earthquake that changed the landscape of Sonoma County forever.

Before the quake, the Sonoma County Courthouse stood majestically in Santa Rosa, a symbol of community pride and resilience. Built in the late 19th century, its stunning architecture and vibrant gardens were a gathering place for local residents and a hub for legal and civic matters. 🏛️

However, the early morning of April 18, 1906 brought chaos and destruction, as one of California's most powerful earthquakes shook the region. The courthouse, once vibrant and full of life, suffered significant damage alongside much of Santa Rosa. The community faced a monumental challenge in rebuilding and healing.

Join us in reflecting on this pivotal moment in history and the enduring spirit of Sonoma County!

Sonoma County Bar Association Appoints Alfredo Hernández as New Executive Director

Santa Rosa, California – The Sonoma County Bar Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Alfredo Hernández as its new Executive Director, effective 3/16/26.

Hernández brings more than 10 years of non-profit experience to the role, having served in various capacities including most recently as Executive Director of Friends of Alemany Farm and the Hollywood Media District Business Improvement District. Prior to that, he spent 2 years at the Afriat Consulting Group Inc., a boutique lobbying firm in Los Angeles.

"Alfredo's extensive background in non-profit management and his proven track record of success make him the ideal candidate to lead the Sonoma County Bar Association into the future," said Teresa Norton, President of the Sonoma County Bar Association. "We are confident that his leadership and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to serve our members and the broader legal community."

In his new role, Hernández will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Sonoma County Bar Association, including member engagement, event planning, and advocacy efforts.

"I am eager to join the Sonoma County Bar Association and help the organization expand its reach and impact within the legal community," said Hernández. "By fostering new partnerships and innovative programming, I'm confident we can elevate the bar association's role as a vital resource and advocate for legal professionals in Sonoma County and beyond."

IRISH BANKER'S COUNTING TABLE - $900

Beautiful and useful solid oak mid 1800's Irish Banker's Counting Table that serves as an amazing stand up desk, with desktops that elevate and plenty of storage inside. There are two pieces to this 'table' - the top 'desktop' rests on a set of sturdy legs.

Dimensions: 6' wide, 28" wide and 20" tall lift up tops of desk, and desktop is 41" off the ground.

Mitch Genser and his wife bought this stand up desk at an antique store in Connecticut as a present for themselves after their wedding 35 years ago. Mitch had this desk in his law office in Santa Rosa for many years. This desk is so versatile and also quite the conversation piece with new clients! Mitch Genser and his wife are scaling down to move back to Massachusetts to be near a soon to be born grandchild, so this desk now now needs a new home.

If interested, please call or text Mitch Genser at (707) 480-0138 (cell #)
