Always a bitter sweet day. 22 years ago with the passing of my mom came a rebirth for me. While I committed to sobriety for myself, a big part of getting and staying sober is a living amends and testament to my Mom, Gloria Scott who helped countless souls recover and navigate the tricky path of sobriety. I want to thank my family, friends and sober community for not only supporting me, but also making it possible to live this beautiful mess of a life. 🙏🏽

Venice jetty - 1980 This is a photo of a wave that no longer exists. At a time when the Venice pier was an unsurfable shore pound. In the winters the Venice jetty would go square with dredging barrels. The takeoff was heavy, in front jagged rocks…if you didn’t make it, there were consequences. If you weren’t a local, you didn’t paddle out. The sands of time have shifted drastically but the memories remain. Here’s to a rich legacy of Venice locals. 📸
