I guide them through the admissions process as they need to prepare for the SAT/ACT and to create a successful statement of purpose. Letters of recommendations are another important aspect of the college admissions that I help guide children through, it is important to help build a strong professional relationship with their high school teachers as this will make them comfortable once they reach c
ollege. Every semester I will be monitoring their grades to help achieve a strong GPA so that they may obtain at least the 3.0 benchmark in which most colleges require. Once they reach their sophomore or junior year of high school I will provide a college tour of the best colleges here in the bay Area. We will visit which ever colleges on their list, as well as other colleges such as UC Berkeley, Davis, Stanford, and SF State. By getting kids exposed to these colleges at an earlier age we can help them to visualize what it would be like to attend there. I work with kids from 6-12 grade, and by the time they reach college if they still require my help then I will be available if need be. It is important to get parents involved and be part of the process, every semester we will be working on a game plan as this is a step by step process. My mother and I started this program to create a platform and make a difference in our community. We provide our interns with endless resources to help prepare for a professional career and to possibly get into the college of their choosing. Having been to community college and UC Berkeley I can use my knowledge of the college system to help families best prepare their children to enter and become successful in college. I work with several kids in low socio economic backgrounds and families that have never attended college. So they do not know how the system works and often times they cannot get the help they need from their teachers in a one on one
