Student emails, names, and ID numbers, as well as Canvas inbox private messages were compromised in a data breach during the first few days of May, according to Instructure, the parent company of the widely used learning management system, Canvas.

Contra Costa Community College District uses Canvas as its main system for online learning and instruction.

The Contra Costa College drama department’s production of “Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead” debuted on April 3. The production is a parody show that pays homage to Charles M. Schulz’s “Peanuts” comic strip. Instead of the lovable and silly characters from the original, “Dog Sees God” has a cast full of troubled teens with more trouble to get into.

From the halls of John F. Kennedy High School to the tasty burgers at In-N-Out, six students from Shimada, Japan, spent a week immersed in Richmond culture.

From March 20 to March 28, 2026, the city of Richmond hosted six students from its sister city of Shimada, Japan as part of a long-standing cultural exchange. Through annual trips from student and adult ambassadors, the Shimada City International Exchange Association in Shimada and Richmond-Shimada Friendship Commission in Richmond work to strengthen international ties.
