☕ COFFEE TALK | What Actually Stays With the House?

You found the house. You LOVE the chandelier. The refrigerator fits perfectly. There are TVs mounted on the walls, smart-home gadgets everywhere and maybe even a hot tub out back.

But… does all of that actually come with the house? 🤔

This is where fixtures vs. personal property comes into play.

Generally, something permanently attached to the home is considered a fixture, while something that can simply be picked up and taken away is personal property. But there are plenty of things that can fall into that confusing gray area.

TV mounts, refrigerators, curtains and rods, security cameras, smart-home equipment, outdoor items — and yes, even that gorgeous chandelier — can create questions.
