It’s one of our favorite days of the year – Love Litigating Lawyers Day! This is a celebration of legal advocacy. If your assets or legal rights are at risk, attorneys are trusted allies who can advocate on your behalf and ensure that justice is always within reach.

Every year on August 31st, the American Bar Association honors those attorneys advocating for your interests in the courtroom. Love Litigating Lawyers Day is an opportunity to appreciate the honest, hard-working attorneys who seek your security in a tumultuous world.

Passed by the American Bar Association Practice Council in 2015, it’s a day for recognizing the efforts of this group of men and women who protect the public good and administration of justice. For more than 20 years, our team of seasoned litigators has worked on behalf of clients to deliver optimal outcomes and responsive client service.

Carmel & Naccasha was again a sponsor of the Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo’s annual fundraiser, SLOstice. Paralegal Tracy Morgan represented the firm at the event, which celebrates community leaders and organizations committed to environmental stewardship.

As a community-driven organization, ECOSLO empowers individuals and businesses to take meaningful environmental action, from planting trees and organizing large scale cleanups as well as its California Green Business Certification program. At Carmel & Naccasha, one of our company’s stated values is giving back through community service and environmental stewardship, which plays an integral role within the culture of our firm and has become a part of our identity.

We are pleased to partner with ECOSLO to further environmental awareness and action on the Central Coast.

Work-life balance is an important value at Carmel & Naccasha, LLP. Recently, nearly 40 of our team members and their families enjoyed each other’s company away from the office at our summer tradition of attending a San Luis Blues baseball game. The firm generously provided admission and food at the stadium’s concession stands.

Whether we were lucky enough to grow up on the beautiful Central Coast or moved here later in life, we deeply appreciate the incredible opportunity to live, to work and to raise our children here and take advantage of county’s many activities and natural amenities, including Blues Baseball. Generative AI feels like a safe place to think through legal problems. But courts are increasingly sending the message that doing so carries risks. In this article, Carmel & Naccasha Partner Michael McMahon explains why if you’re facing a serious legal issue, the safest first step is still the old‑fashioned one: talk to a lawyer first before you ask an algorithm.

Carmel & Naccasha has once again been recognized by a leading regional publication as a top employer on the Central Coast. The Pacific Coast Business Times, a regional newspaper covering business and industry in the tri-county area of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, recently honored Carmel & Naccasha as a Central Coast Best Places to Work company.

Carmel & Naccasha Attorney Brooks J. Hollister won three separate trials recently for a client seeking assistance in obtaining Elder Abuse Restraining Orders. The client, a family member of the victim and acting under a Durable Power of Attorney, felt the victim was being financially taken advantage of by other members of the family, and contacted Carmel & Naccasha for legal assistance. Hollister filed three separate requests for Elder Abuse Restraining Orders, which, after trial, resulted in each being granted for a period of three years. The court further requested Hollister file a petition for fees against the Defendants.

Mr. Hollister, who focuses his practice on estate planning, probate, estate and trust litigation, conservatorships and business transactions, was supported throughout the trial by a team of paralegals, legal assistants and file room staff.
