Another reason to celebrate! We are thrilled to congratulate our team member, Amy Espinoza, on earning a Notary Public Certificate.

To earn her certificate, Amy completed a grueling eight-hour course of study and a 90-minute test. Having observed notary signings in the past, she was intrigued by the process and now enhances our team's efficiency as an additional notary resource. Amy manages our firm’s busy File Room, which organizes, maintains, and secures physical and digital case files, pleadings, and legal correspondence.

We are proud to represent Cal Poly Partners in the sale of its newly constructed residential neighborhood, Vista Meadows, at the corner of Slack and Grand! Cal Poly Partners provides eligible University faculty and staff the opportunity to purchase a home within walking distance of Cal Poly through a unique mortgage assistance program offered in partnership with School Employees of San Luis Obispo County (SESLOC Federal Credit Union) and other lenders, and with assistance from First American Title. A total of 34 three-bedroom homes ranging in size from 1600 to 2100 square feet are being built as we speak! Occupancy of the first available homes is expected within the next few weeks.

We walked for charity! Every year, we face off against our friends at EP Wealth Advisors in a walking challenge to see who gets the most steps in one month. The money raised from this friendly competition this year went to the Land Conservancy of SLO County and People’s Kitchen San Luis Obispo.

Guess who won. We did! This year, our team walked more than 5 million steps! (Together, our two firms walked more than 9 million steps.)

Balancing the demands of a full-time legal career while completing an academic program requires significant discipline, perseverance, and commitment. Work-life balance is an important value at Carmel & Naccasha, LLP. Recently, nearly 40 of our team members and their families enjoyed each other’s company away from the office at our summer tradition of attending a San Luis Blues baseball game. The firm generously provided admission and food at the stadium’s concession stands.

Whether we were lucky enough to grow up on the beautiful Central Coast or moved here later in life, we deeply appreciate the incredible opportunity to live, to work and to raise our children here and take advantage of county’s many activities and natural amenities, including Blues Baseball. Carmel & Naccasha Business Development Director Ron Yukelson was recently honored by the Channel Islands YMCA with its Distinguished Service Award, the Golden Triangle. Yukelson is a current Channel Islands YMCA Board Member and was recognized for his nearly 50 years of volunteer service to the YMCA movement. The Golden Triangle is the highest award given to volunteers by the Channel Islands Y “who have demonstrated consistent commitment and have given the Y an important place among the major interests of their lives.”

Yukelson started as a third-grade YMCA camper at the Culver Palms YMCA in the Los Angeles area before serving as both a camp counselor and Day Camp Director at the Santa Monica YMCA, where he served for 25 years both as a community board member and as two-time President of the Y’s Men’s Club service organization. Upon his relocation to San Lus Obispo area in 2005, he served 16 years on San Luis Obispo Y’s Board of Directors including a term as Board Chair. Yukelson was Chair of the committee that oversaw the merger and transition of the San Luis Obispo YMCA with the Channel Islands YMCA in 2024.

The Golden Triangle was awarded at the Channel Islands YMCA’s Annual Meeting in Santa Barbara with approximately 80 people in attendance.
