"The works of Philip Goodwin are constantly urging me to paint these types of scenesāperhaps the drop off for an exciting wilderness adventure or the relief of a late pickup after a week of foul weather. The painting will, hopefully, inspire viewers to create their own stories. The title is from a quote by American writer and environment advocate Sigurd F. Olson: āThe way of the canoe is the way of the wilderness, and of a freedom almost forgotten.āā
