Lawyers Supporting Democracy: Election Operations, Poll Monitoring, and the 2026 Midterms

Free Event | Self-Study Credit Available

Free, fair, accessible, and effectively administered elections depend on trained individuals who understand the rules, communicate clearly, and help established processes work as intended. Lawyers, law students, and legal professionals are especially well suited to this work.

This webinar will explore meaningful ways attorneys and legal professionals can support the administration of the November 3, 2026 election, including:

- Serving as poll workers under the training and supervision of local election officials
- Volunteering as trained election protection volunteers and poll monitors; and
- Supporting election integrity and the rule of law in a nonpartisan capacity.

The program is not about advocating for candidates, parties, ballot initiatives, or particular outcomes. It is about helping ensure the election process works as it should.

No election-law experience is required.

This information is especially important for communities that have historically faced voter suppression, over-policing, misinformation, and barriers to ballot access.

- They have the right to vote free from intimidation.
- They have the right to ask for help.
- They have the right to request a provisional ballot if their eligibility is questioned.
- They have the right to report problems at the polls.
