BREAKING: Hunger strikers in Central Valley immigration detention facilities have filed a lawsuit against ICE & GEO Group for illegal retaliation. MV-GSA hunger strikers are protesting unpaid labor & inhumane conditions and demanding their release and shutdown of both facilities.

Since the hunger strike began, ICE and GEO Group have harassed the protestors by making the temperature of the dorms painfully cold, taunting them with food, threatening to place them in solitary confinement, and more.

Guillermo Medina Reyes, MV-GSA striker says, “We are all humans. There are people here who are fathers, brothers, husbands. They deserve a real chance to fight their case and to have a chance at liberty as well. That’s why we started the strike and this lawsuit.”

For 8 days, more than 80 people have been forced to escalate an ongoing labor strike against $1-a-day pay and hideous living conditions, including facilities rife with black mold. We will do everything possible to protect their right to engage in that protest.
