Your bedroom should feel like a place you can't wait to come home to.
A few things that make a real difference:

🍋 Keep the desk out if you can. Keeping work separate from rest is integral to good sleep health.

🍋 Review nightstand clutter regularly and keep it tidy.

🍋 Warm accents go a long way, like a textured throw or a candle. The color palette matters less than the feeling it gives you.

🍋 If there's a screen in the room, even just putting it behind a closed cabinet at night can make the room feel more serene.

The bedroom is the one space that's entirely yours. It's worth being intentional about it.

Every family we've worked with has their own version of this. Maybe someone who can't let go of the house until every corner has been photographed. Or the client who is having a hard time narrowing down which furniture will fit in their smaller home.

A move stirs emotions up, and that's normal. A few things that help:

👉 Give yourself permission to grieve the space. You can feel excited about a new chapter while also being sad about ending one.

👉 Designate a "memory box" early in the packing process. When you come across something that stops you in your tracks, it goes there. You deal with it once instead of twenty times.

👉 If the move involves a senior loved one, let them lead wherever possible. Even small decisions go a long way toward making the whole process feel like theirs.

Check out this desk space that actually makes you want to sit down!!

A few things this setup gets right:

👉 Vertical storage does all the heavy lifting. Shelves that go up instead of out keep the desk surface clear for actual work.

👉 Not every shelf needs to be full. The empty space here is intentional and it's a big part of why the whole thing feels calm rather than cluttered.

👉 A small plant and a few personal items go a long way.

Drawer dividers are one of those things that seem small until you have them and then you wonder how you ever managed without.

These bamboo ones are a favorite around here because they adjust to fit your drawer instead of you working around them.

They work beautifully in a kitchen, but also just as good in a closet or bathroom.
