Here's one more: Pack a "first night" box before anything else goes into storage or gets loaded onto the truck. Think of it like packing for an overnight trip, and add in some sheets and a pillowcase. ⁠

This one shows up in my team's kit for almost every relocation project. Since it's adhesive backed, this shelf liner stays flat and stuck in place rather than sliding or bunching the way loose liners do, and it trims down easily with regular scissors to fit narrow drawers or oddly shaped shelves.⁠

We're curious - have you tried meal prepping to feel more organized and on top of things? It can actually save a LOT of time overall, even though it requires some commitment upfront. You don't have to prep a bunch of fancy stuff, just:

👉 A form of protein like pre-cooked chicken or turkey
👉 A big batch of rice or sweet potatos
👉 Beans, soaked and cooked ahead of time (or just buy canned)
👉 A tray of roasted veggies, whatever's in season

Once those basics are in the fridge, building a bowl takes about five minutes. Grab a little of each, add your favorite sauce, and you're set. Right now our go-to is a Thai peanut, though a spicy lemon tahini is a close second.

This method also freezes well, so double the rice and protein and you've bought yourself a second week too!

You know we love an autumnal/Halloween shopping spree! That said, here is a PSA: If last year's garlands and decor are still packed away, be sure to get those out before heading to the store. You may have a lot more than you thought.

For a beautiful and planet-friendly touch, lean into compostable decorations like corn husks, wheat stalks, pumpkins, and squash. These are so elegant and you don't have to deal with storing them after the season ends.

One more tip: if you love fake spiderwebs, keep them close to your home or indoors. Birds can get caught in them outdoors. 🥺
