The vertical shirt fold method gets a lot of love, and honestly, that's fair. It doesn't work for everyone though. Here are the pros and cons so you can make the right choice for your needs:
PROS:
✅ You can actually see everything in the drawer at once. No more wearing only what's on top because the rest is buried.
✅ It keeps things more organized over time because you're not rooting through stacked piles. Everything stays visible and in place.
✅ It has a sneaky way of helping you purge. When you switch over and realize half your clothes don't fit in the drawer vertically, you start editing and usually find a lot of things you forgot you even had.
CONS:
❌ It takes practice. You're essentially folding everything into a small rectangle, which feels strange at first, especially after a full load of laundry.
❌ It doesn't work for everyone. If someone in your house goes through clothing faster than laundry gets done, the rows collapse and the system falls apart pretty quickly.
One drawer is enough to test it. Start there!
