With the help of David Osorio and his former firm prior to joining DHG Legal, Ms. Chavez successfully appealed the Santa Barbara County Superior Court’s order sustaining a demurer without leave. She will now be able to proceed with her lawsuit and have her day in court. Ms. Chavez's husband died from COVID-19 and she alleged his employer knew of the COVID-19 outbreak that led to his death and failed to inform employees or do anything to mitigate the impact of the outbreak.

Thank you to the American Civil Liberties Union for bringing together affiliate leadership and board members for inspiration to continue fighting for justice and equality. Daniel Galindo has served on the Board of Directors of the ACLU of Northern California since 2020. He chairs the Audit & Compliance Committee and recently was appointed to serve on the Legal Committee. Daniel previously served as ACLU staff in San Francisco as a community organizer on immigrants rights issues and LGBTQI empowerment.
