A bit late posting this one. But better late than never!
"Just" SOLD | 70 Saint Marks, Daly City | $1.5M
Though each listing teaches me something new, this was one of my most rewarding. This house was the childhood home of a dear friend of mine. It's never easy to say goodbye to place filled with such an abundance of loving memories. But my team and I were there to slow the process down whenever needed and speed up the pace when the opportunity presented itself. All the while, we were able to wear so many different "hats". In addition to managing contractors to do the prep work, we helped clear out furniture and personal belongings, with top priorities to re-home and donate with the last resort being a meal to the landfill monster. The owner of the house was a talented woodworker and stained glass artist so the house was filled with machinery, exotic lumber, tools and other building materials. We donated the gorgeous wood to my neighbor (and former school teacher) in the Outer Richmond who runs a woodworking school, The Butterfly Joint (thebutterflyjoint.com), for kids. We donated the stained glass supplies to John at Lenox Stained Glass (lenoxstainedglass.com) a local business in the Inner Richmond. We re-homed furniture and personal items via our networks in Facebook, Nextdoor, and Buy Nothing. Finally, the building materials were donated to Building Resources (buildingresources.org), a wonderful non-profit in the Bayview neighborhood.
Our in-house designer selected new finishes to spruce up the look on a budget. We painted and did handy-person repairs within our capabilities. We did all this to save the sellers some money and also to put our personal stamp on this listing. This isn't necessarily the most time-efficient way to do a listing, but sometimes, taking your time is the "right way".
Oh and by the way, we got a preemptive offer at TOP$ :)
Congratulations to our Happy Sellers!
