Friends. I have practiced law for 21 years; time sure does fly! I believe that most cases just need a little push, or perhaps some sideline coaching, to be resolved. As such, I'm moving away from litigation, although I will still do that when required, of course. My firm now focuses on divorce coaching and consulting, not spending years in Court in Trial. In this time of lockdown and pandemic, many of my clients are unsure about how to go about managing their custody arrangements. Courts have consistently stated across the country that the current Court Orders in your matter will remain so for the foreseeable future. Exceptions to carrying out your custody and visitation schedule will hinge on whether you can manage, for example, out of state travel to see your child (you cannot at present, so that visitation is suspended), or whether you, your child, or someone in your household is ill. Absent these situations, you and the other parent are to work together to continue in your current arrangement. Call me for more details on this and other family law questions you may have.
