Identity theft doesn't just happen through stolen wallets, but also through the data you leave behind online every day. Here's how to lock it down:

🗑️ Use California's DROP tool (Delete Request and Opt-Out Platform) to request data brokers erase your personal information. Deletion starts August 1, 2026, and brokers must repeat the process every 45 days.
🌐 Use a VPN to hide your real IP address and stop your Internet Service Provider from snooping. But remember, a VPN can't stop "browser fingerprinting."
🔗 Strip tracking codes from URLs (like utm_source or click_id) manually, or use a privacy-focused browser or extension that does it for you.
🍪 Manage your cookies — Chrome doesn't block third-party cookies by default, and Edge only blocks some. Check your settings!
🌍 Choose your browser wisely — Chrome is generally considered the least privacy-protective of the major browsers, Firefox is the only fully open-source option, and privacy-first browsers like Brave go a step further by limiting browser fingerprinting.

Protecting your online data is one of the most overlooked defenses against identity theft. Small changes = big protection.
