Halloween pedestrian safety starts before the first trick-or-treater hits the sidewalk. 🎃
Halloween changes what a typical neighborhood looks like after dark. There are more children walking, more cars stopping and starting, and plenty of excitement that can make kids a little less predictable around the road.
For parents, think about how visible your child will be once the sun goes down. For drivers, assume there may be a trick-or-treater around the next parked car, driveway, or corner—even if you don’t see them yet.
A few extra seconds of patience behind the wheel can help everyone make it home with nothing scarier than an overflowing candy bag. 🍬
Stay alert. Slow down. Have a safe Halloween, San Diego!
