Due to the closure of our Southeastern San Diego office, we have been present at the Southeastern Live Well Center on Euclid Avenue and Market Street. Please share this information with your friends, family, and contacts in Southeastern San Diego, who can meet with our intake staff on Tuesdays and Thursdays, to take their information so we can see if the person qualifies for our free legal services. The House of Representatives Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies (CJS) proposed a cut of more than 50% to the Legal Services Corporation's budget for Fiscal Year 2027.
In California, this would mean 433,231 fewer people receive legal help. Across the country, more than 2.8 million Americans could lose access to legal aid, leaving their cases unresolved and their rights unprotected.
Such a drastic cut would undermine access to justice for millions, with lasting consequences for families, communities, and the legal system as a whole.
