As such, documents and forms which need to be authenticated by the Philippine Consulate may be notarized by an accredited notary first. Once notarized, the document may be brought to the Consulate for authentication without the signer or executor of the document being physically present. These documents and forms are those to be u
sed or required in the Philippines such as Power of Attorney, Deed of Sale and Extra-Judicial Settlement of Estate to name a few. For members and beneficiaries of the Social Security System, forms for Annual Confirmation of Pensioners, applications for retirement, death, funeral or maternity claims need to be authenticated before being sent to the Philippines, that is, the member or beneficiary will not personally file the claim with the SSS.
