Client was charged with 2 counts of assault on an officer and possession of a gun. Not Guilty on the gun and one of the assaults. Client was trying to get away and was shot twice. Jury said that because the truck had a trailer that almost hit the officer, they convicted of that assault. Gun was found on floorboard of passenger seat in a lunch container. I argued no evidence that he knew it was there and the car was processed hours later without chain of custody. I'm ok with the verdict bc we beat the charge we weren't supposed to and the charge we did go down on, though I don't agree with it, I can see the logic. Client was happy and cried purely because I fought for him.
