🏡 MY WORST CLIENT EVER... WAS ALSO ONE OF MY BEST. 😂

I'll never forget what he told me when we first met.

"Ryan, I'm going to be difficult. I know it."

He wasn't kidding.

Demanding. Hardheaded. Opinionated.

The man lived up to the hype. 😂

I'm pretty sure there were a few occasions when I needed a shot of vodka before picking up his phone calls. 🥃

BUT HERE'S THE TWIST...

He was also one of my most LOYAL clients.

We did multiple transactions together. He referred other clients. And despite all the headaches, we developed a tremendous amount of mutual respect.

In real estate, we love becoming friends with our clients. And often, that's exactly what happens. But sometimes, it's simply a professional relationship. You hire us to do a job. We do it well. We respect each other. And everybody wins.

You don't have to be my best friend for me to be your best broker.

And if you're difficult? Well... I've had practice. 😂

I grew up in a log cabin - That my Father built.

Real, hand-hewn timbers stacked one on top of another. Massive vaulted ceilings. A porch swing hanging INSIDE the great room. Cats that would literally run straight up the log walls.

It was unique. Warm. Protective. A little unconventional.

That house had a soul.

I didn't realize it as a kid, but looking back nearly 40 years later, I understand something about that house that I couldn't have explained then.

A house is a structure. A home is something entirely different.

And as cheesy as it sounds, maybe that's where my understanding of real estate really started. Long before contracts, commissions, and closing tables.

Because at the end of the day, we're not just helping people buy and sell buildings. We're helping them find places where their lives happen. Places they'll remember 40 years later.

That's something we still believe at Jadestone Real Estate. 🏡

The home library. One of the most underrated luxuries in real estate.

From a converted closet with a few bookshelves to an extravagant two-story library, there's something special about having a space dedicated to reading.

Books have always been an important part of my life, and I still dream of having a luxurious home library someday.

In fact, I remember touring a home in Shavano Park more than 15 years ago that had an incredible two-story library.

To this day, I regret not buying that house in 2010! 😂

🛣️ Ever wonder how streets get their names?

Well... it depends!

Sometimes city planners keep it simple. 32nd Street, 33rd Street, 34th Street. Not exactly creative genius.

But in newer subdivisions, developers often get to propose the names.
Want to name a road after yourself? Your kids? Your favorite vacation spot? Go for it!
Of course, local authorities must approve the names, and there are rules about duplicates and other restrictions. But there's still plenty of room for creativity.

So here's the question: If you could name an entire neighborhood's streets, what theme would you choose?

Family names? Famous musicians? Favorite foods? Or would every street just be named after you? 😂
