Brian Mylar, Realtor with Coldwell Banker D'Ann Harper Brian Mylar is a Realtor with Coldwell Banker D'Ann Harper Realtors in San Antonio. I specialize in North Central San Antonio but will work anywhere.

I was a television news reporter and anchor for 30 years before retiring and getting into real estate full time. I had my license active several years before actually starting to become a full time REALTOR. I like it because I still get to get out and meet people and make things happen. Getting results for my clients is very similar to getting action in a television news story. I'm a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Business (Marketing) degree and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Master of Arts degree (Journalism). That makes me an AgHorn. I'm proud of both schools and have enjoyed living and working in Texas for most of the past 40 years. I have six children, including two sets of twins. I'm active in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Cub Scout Pack 500 and in a number of sports and dance organizations involving my children.

Sometimes you go out to see a nice Toll Brothers home in the Shavano Highlands and you run into a media frenzy! I thought I was back in TV news for a minute! No, this is what we do as Realtors these days. We need head shots and reels and things to post on social media. So here you go! Nice home!

If you're thinking about a new home between San Antonio and Austin, here's a good one. Highland Homes is building in Homestead right off of IH-35 in Schertz. This is the Panamera Plan, starting at $567,990 with four to five bedrooms and base square feet of 2,672. Nice house!

So if you’re selling your house, should you decorate for Halloween or Christmas or any other holidays? The answer is yes! Decorations give homes a warm, loving feeling and people like that. As long as the decorations aren’t tacky or overboard or cluttered, they can really improve the feeling people get when they visit your house. These are houses decorated for Halloween in my neighborhood.

In real estate we are constantly keeping up with the trends: housing prices, mortgage rates, buyer preferences. So we get training. And SOMETIMES it comes with a delicious lunch! Thanks to Tom Romanello and Legacy Mutual Mortgage for hosting this training at Silo, where the entrees included pecan crusted chicken, pork tenderloin and NY strip steak. Never has learning tasted this good!
