One of the most powerful moments at Texas CASA's Advocacy in Motion Conference was closing with a tribute to the lives lost on September 11 and the heroes who ran toward danger to help others.
That reflection reminded me of the children served by CASA. Children in the foster care system are victims of circumstances they did not create. CASA volunteers step into difficult situations to advocate for them, helping create pathways to safety, stability, and opportunity.

One of my biggest takeaways was that hope is more than optimism. Hope is believing the future can be better than today and knowing there is a path to make it so. CASA volunteers help children and families find those paths every day.

Congratulations to Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott on receiving the Big Voice for Little Texans Award and for her unwavering support of Texas children and Texas CASA.
