DHS recently announced the designation of Cameroon for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months. AILA President Allen Orr welcomed the announcement, stating, “AILA stands with the Cameroonian American community and urges the Biden Administration to issue the Federal Register notice as soon as possible to ensure the registration process for TPS can get underway. African communities in the United States have been waiting far too long for this designation.” See this article from CBS News for more information.

The Department of Homeland Security said Cameroon cannot safely accept the return of its citizens because of the country's ongoing civil war.

Temporary Protected Status announced for Ukrainians! If you know a Ukrainian who has been in the United States since March 1, have them set an appointment ASAP so we can get their application in early in line. It offers protection from deportation and work permission.
