🍷 A Boerne w**ery is making a statewide impression. Missick Cellars, which recently opened its tasting room just off Boerne’s Hill Country Mile, has been named one of only 12 winners of the 2026 Texas Vintners Cup for its 2023 Petite Sirah.

The recognition adds to an impressive start for the family-owned w**ery, which has already earned honors at the San Francisco Chronicle W**e Competition. It’s another reason to raise a glass to Boerne’s growing w**e scene and the makers putting the Texas Hill Country on the map.

Missick Cellars has barely had time to set out the glasses at its new Boerne tasting room before needing to break out the bubbles. The newcomer has been named the only San Antonio-area winner of the Texas Vintners Cup, one of the state's most prestigious w**e competitions.

A new dining destination is coming to San Antonio’s River Walk. Barberry, the latest restaurant from Michelin-recognized Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group, is set to open later this year inside the renovated Sítio El Tropicano hotel. The 140-seat restaurant will feature Gulf seafood, Texas-raised meats and produce from local farms, with dinner and breakfast planned at opening. The hotel’s revival will also include a pool bar, café, spa, and private club.

Barberry is coming to the renovated Sítio El Tropicano in San Antonio late this year from Pullman Market operator Emmer & Rye Hospitality.

A new spot is now open in Hemisfair. Chef Rene Fernandez, the San Antonio restaurateur behind Azúca and Hola!, recently opened 510 @ Park Deli & Market in the historic Pereida House at 510 S. Alamo St.

The casual concept features pressed-to-order panini, salads, charcuterie, poke, ceviche, smoothies and frutería offerings, plus a market with gourmet snacks, artisan gifts and locally made goods. Another destination added to San Antonio’s growing downtown dining scene!
