It's especially timely as the annual H-1B Electronic Registration "lottery" will take place from March 4-19, so U.S. employers need to be prepared in advance to sponsor upcoming May 2026 graduates and other international professionals.

Corporate in-house counsel attorneys are strongly encouraged to attend the upcoming Association of Corporate Counsel event from 12-1pm on November 18th, which will be a FREE lunch CLE at Paesanos Lincoln Heights sponsored by Myers Immigration Law and Bracewell LLP.

Entitled "Form I-9 Audits & Worksite Raids," the presentation will cover Form I-9, E-Verify, and Employer Compliance as well as developments and recommendations under the current administration, including increased worksite enforcement and charging employers criminally in federal court. The "Big Beautiful Bill" resulted in triple the funding for enforcement efforts, which Border Czar Tom Homan stated following the Georgia Hyundai raid would include targeting employers, but we have not yet seen the full effect of this funding. Employers and their staff should be prepared for how to respond to worksite enforcement and raids.
