🎾 The US Open was a must on our New York trip!

All four of my kiddos played tennis for Alamo Heights, so tennis has been a big part of our family for years. Getting to experience the US Open in person—and feel the energy of the crowds—was such a special experience.

The tournament dates back to 1881 and has called Flushing Meadows home since 1978. Today, it’s one of the four Grand Slam tournaments and home to Arthur Ashe Stadium.

For this tennis mom, seeing it in person was definitely one to remember! ❤️🎾

🏫 A new chapter for Alamo Heights High School. The newly opened campus features expanded classrooms, modern spaces, and updated facilities while still paying tribute to the school’s long history and traditions. The $116 million transformation marks a significant investment in the Alamo Heights community and an exciting new chapter for students and families.

The new Alamo Heights High School building is state-of-the-art, but it still pays homage to its long history.

This week’s Home Crush takes us to Monticello Park. 🏡✨

Built in 1936, this striking Art Deco home at 2201 West Mulberry is filled with beautiful period details, including original casement windows, Moderne cable-wire lighting, wood floors, and a graceful curved Deco fireplace.

But the backyard might be even more impressive—with a lap pool, pavilion, raised garden beds, covered carport, automatic gate, and a 465-square-foot guest house with a full bath.

The home also has an incredible architectural history. It was designed by renowned San Antonio firm Adams & Adams, whose work includes Jefferson High School and the main residence at the legendary King Ranch.

Now that is a Home Crush. ❤️

🎭 Did you know about this historic San Antonio theater?

Tucked inside San Pedro Springs Park is the San Pedro Playhouse, which traces its roots back nearly a century and is San Antonio’s longest-running live theater.

The building has a fascinating story of its own. When it opened in 1930, its façade was designed to replicate San Antonio’s old Market House, an 1859 landmark that was demolished to widen Market Street.

Even the park surrounding it has deep history — San Pedro Springs Park was dedicated as public space in 1852 and is considered the oldest public park in Texas.

San Antonio history is everywhere if you know where to look. ❤️
