Congratulations to Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson and her historic confirmation as the first Black woman to serve on the United States Supreme Court

The vote on the historic nomination was 53 to 47, with three Republicans voting with Democrats. When sworn in this summer, Jackson will be the first Black woman on the Supreme Court.

The U.S. Senate delivered a major legislative victory for the movement, clearing a House-passed bill to guarantee that victims of workplace s*xual harassment or assault are free to pursue lawsuits in court.

Our team has been busy over the past 5 years fighting for Black workers' rights to a harassment free workplace at Tesla. The fight is far from over, as we continue to receive calls about the pervasive use of the N-word and other racial epithets at Tesla. Here's a good recap of where we are today:

On Friday, jury selection commenced in our racial harassment case agains Tesla. Tesla moved to strike the only two Black jurors left on our panel. We made a Batson challenge and the judge sustained it as to one of the Black jurors finding the Black juror was perfectly able to serve as an impartial juror and blocked Tesla's preemptory challenge.

For those of you following, opening statements commence on Monday at 8:30am, with Bernard Alexander delivering the opening on behalf of Plaintiff Owen Diaz. 🤞🏼

A California federal judge sustained a Batson challenge during jury selection Friday raised by counsel for a Black ex-Tesla worker claiming that the electric vehicle company's Northern California factory was a hotbed of racial discrimination against African Americans reminiscent of the Jim Crow era.
