Home Sweet… what’s that smell?!

There’s nothing worse than finding the perfect home only to go view it and it SMELLS!

!!SELLERS!!
If you are getting ready to put your home on the market here are a few tips:

1. Open all the windows in your home. I know with the hot weather we tend to keep windows closed. However, this is imperative especially if you do a lot of cooking. It will allow the stale air to be eliminated leaving your home with a fresher smell.

2. Dust everything that you can and wipe down your walls Dust collects and contibutes to a musty “old” smell to a house.

3. Clean your carpets! If it’s within your budget, have your carpets professionally cleaned or if you own a carpet cleaner do a few good deep cleans!

4. Same goes with Tile grout! Especially with floors. Sand and dust collects in the porous grout siding in odd smells within your home. Call a professional or use a grout frendly cleaner!

5. Plug-ins & rooms sprays- a MUST HAVE. I like to add plug ins throughout the house to ensure the house smells brand new! Before showings and before open houses, to add a little boost give a couple sprays in each room and on drapery.

When using fresheners do not use anything perfumey, use fresh linen or clean laundry scents.

If it’s within your budget, have your house professionially cleaned!

Don’t be afraid to ask your neighbors for their opinions! A clean fresh house is better than a smelly one!
