Officially finished my term as the elected Monterey College of Law Student Representative with the Monterey County Bar Association! 🏛️✨
Looking back, this whole experience started with a complete surprise. Last year, a classmate nominated me without my knowledge. Next thing I knew, my name was up for a vote. I honestly thought, “No worries, I doubt anyone will vote for me.” But to my complete surprise, I was elected with a majority of the votes, without doing a single bit of campaigning!
Stepping into this role was a huge honor. As the student representative, I had the privilege of serving as the bridge between our driven, inspired law students and the practicing attorneys in our community. Sitting in board meetings with both groups allowed me to advocate for our students and find meaningful ways to bring everyone together. 🫂
This journey taught me a powerful lesson: I’ve been a lone wolf long enough to deeply value the strength of community. Building relationships, connecting people to resources, and working as a team to create opportunities for everyone is something I naturally love to do. The reason I didn’t need to campaign was simple: those around me already knew they could count on me.
Thankful for this incredible opportunity and honored to pass the torch to the next student leader to keep moving us forward! torch-passing 🕯️✨
