Judge Passero never liked to be anything other than the most prepared in the courtroom. He prided himself on it and it guided his practice and his time on the bench. As his clerk, we obviously had a role in his preparation and process. It was simple, really: Prepare more than everyone else. If there's a question -- research it and get an answer. Justify your argument.
That same lessons guides the practice now. Nothing makes you feel more than a lawyer than having the answer ready with precedent.

What amazes me still, however, is how infrequently I notice this simple process within the practice of the law.
